Sie gehört nun mir, SPIRIT OF FERNIE …

It’s time to stop dreaming! And it’s quite a long time i dreamed about rowing this ocean in such a crazy little ocean rowboat. But now things changed a lot .. and i need to wake up.

Why? Because … I BOUGHT MY BOAT TODAY and it is not just a vivid dream anymore. It’s not just A boat, no, it’s MY real boat now. WOW! Can anybody understand how exciting this is? Can anybody understand why im going crazy now?

A lot of people told me, that buying such a boat will be the last frontier between dream and reality. And it might be the last chance to stop this project, the last exit, before i invest such a massive amount of money into what better might remain a dream. I thought about this today, as i entered the bank. And .. and i needed to smile as i did the trick with the money (you know, conjuring a hole in your bankaccount). It’s officially now, i am owner of an ocean rowboat – I am the PROUD new owner of the boat SPIRIT OF FERNIE. It’s not a dream anymore, it’s a real boat made of fiber and real, pure magic – and she belongs to me now. And it has to be this way!

Of course, it’s a few weeks ago when i made the decision, to start dealing about acontract with Paul, the previous owner. I felt in love with the boat the same moment i saw her the first time myself. But it took us quite a while to make a contract, to deal with all the details (and believe me, there are a lot of details to discuss). You know. So it was really, really hard for me to keep it a secret for so long. And it’s such a relief now to share this news with all of you. I have to thank all the people who made this possible: Paul and his family, Rachel, Sophia, Tony … well, just all of you! And i also need to say thank you to all the other boat sellers, who spent a lot of time showing me the other boats in England. It’s hard to say „No“ in the end to you, because it was great to see ALL the boats, and all of them were really good options. But i needed to choose the boat which will fit the best to my needs – so i did.

Lot’s of problems to solve now. How to name her? How to paint her? And most important: How to get her to Germany?! I will deal with this, will find a way … but tomorrow! Today i will try to get rid of this smile in my face and will celebrate that i got a new child i have to take of now.
